Description

Getting into the chorus, we are going to switch things up a bit from what's on the record. We are going to play some rhythm guitar that stays right in the pocket of the rhythm section, while also playing the licks that you hear throughout. Both choruses will features the same rhythm guitar parts, while the lead licks will vary only slightly.

The chord progression for the choruses is a four bar progression played three times of G, A, F# minor and B minor. After three rounds, we will play G, A, F# minor, F#, followed by some hits on F#7 and ending with our unison line. You can play just the chords if you want the whole time.

What I'm going to play is a hybrid of the two. For G, A, and F# minor I am going to play a strong back beat rhythm that also leaves it open to get into the licks over the B minor chords.

For the first chorus we have three licks, all of which happen over the B minor chord. It's important to note how I transition into each one as well.

For the second chorus, the licks very slightly but the nice thing is that they happen in the same place.

We will end each chorus the same way. We do an eighth note crescendo over F# minor to F# major. Then we join the band in a sixteenth note syncopation over F#7, followed by our unison line.

Remember, you can also just play chords over that line as well as I know it's a little tricky. However, it's worth looking at as it's a really cool line.
