Description

"Across 110th Street" features a single guitar throughout the entire song. I am using a semi-hollow body electric guitar with humbucker pickups and 11 gauge strings. The tone is very round and slightly overdriven, with some reverb to give it some extra character.

The tone and effect settings for Guitar #1 are:

- Pan Hollowbody Electric (Gibson ES390 clone with P90 Pickups) w/ 10 Gauge Strings, Dunlop Small, Thick Pick
- Pickup switch in the bridge position
- Vintage Clean Tone, Fender Tube Amp Emulation through 1x10 Cab
- Spring Reverb. Mix @ 15%, Decay @ 15%

This guitar has a tone that really compliments the style of the song, mixing together our octave melodies and chords we will be playing all throughout the song. I have combined all the licks you here, plus some rhythm guitar that you can play along with as well to stay in the pocket of the song. This clean tone with just a slight breakup helps you play along with the entire song confidently, as if you were playing in a live scenario covering the recorded parts of the song and more.

Because we are taking a single guitar approach to this song, we are already working through the track as a single guitar performance. Throughout the tutorial, I am also going to teach you the chords of each section so if you want to play rhythm guitar along the way, you are welcome to do that as well. It's always good to know, in any song, what the chord structure is you are working with.

Now that you know about all the guitar and tones will be using to play "Across 110th Street," let's get started.
