As we’ve seen the capo is a useful tool that can be used for many different purposes!
A capo can also be used to make a guitar with high action easier to play. Many old blues & country players did this because their old acoustic guitars had really high action, meaning the distance between the strings and the fretboard made fretting the guitar very difficult. They found that placing a capo on the first fret often made the action considerably lower instantly making the guitar much easier to play!
