Description

This is another way to play Jimmy's short G run. In this lesson I started the run with an upstroke, and in Jimmy Martin's Short G Run I started the run with a downstroke.

Jimmy often used this after singing a line of a verse or chorus, or in some cases in the middle of a line.

We are using the same strumming pattern here, but I have the capo in the 4th fret. When playing a G chord there, you're actually playing a B chord.

Play one measure in G, and start the 2nd measure. After the first strum you start the run, with an upstroke this time.

I am using all downstrokes for the boom chick strumming, but watch the right hand closely.

Remember to practice without the capo, and also move the capo around too. After you get this down, learn the other strumming pattern in Driving Bluegrass Rhythm At A Medium Tempo
