Description

"Lithium" has all the elements of a Nirvana classic and formulated the sound of alternative rock.

The verses are based on a really interesting progression rhythmically and harmonically. And the choruses are based on the same progression but with different strumming patterns and very different dynamics.

After the second chorus there's an interesting arrangement idea where the song goes into a bridge part and get's even heavier than the chorus this part also comes back at the very end of the song.

The guitar in this song is tuned down a whole step. But we'll refer to the chords shapes as being in E major even though they actually sound down a whole step lower.

This song is in E major, in 4/4 time and played at a tempo of 123 BPM.
