Description

I’m using a Stratocaster guitar for this song, but any electric guitar is suitable. For most of the parts, I’ve selected the bridge pickup for a clear, bright tone. When Guitar 1 plays with a clean tone, switch to position 2 of the 5 way switch to use the middle and bridge pickup together. Guitar 2 switches to the neck pickup halfway through the main solo to give a contrasting texture.

A cranked up Marshall tube amp is the best choice to replicate the electric tone in this tune. Dial in a meaty crunch sound - for example, set the Preamp Gain to 85%, Bass to 50%, Mids to 85%, Treble to 65%, and Presence to 55%.

Guitar 1 uses full crunch as well as some clean low dynamic tones. Roll down your volume knob or a volume pedal to achieve the clean tones when needed in the arrangement.

For Guitar 2, kick in a Tube Screamer for more gain and sustain. Add a touch of reverb to both guitars for depth.

Since we’re in standard tuning, I’m using regular light gauge strings that are 10-46 along with a heavy pick.
