I’m using a Stratocaster guitar for this song, but any electric guitar is suitable. I’ve selected the bridge pickup for a bright, clear tone.
A Fender tube amp is the best choice to replicate the tones heard in this tune. Dial in a clean - right on the edge of breakup - sound - for example, set the Preamp Gain to 45%, Bass to 50%, Mids to 55%, Treble to 60%, and Presence to 60%.
For the choruses played by Guitar 1, kick in a fuzz pedal for a thick crunch sound. Guitar 2 has a slightly different crunch tone, so I used a tube screamer in front of the clean amp.
I’m using regular light gauge strings that are 10-46 along with a heavy pick to dig right in.
