C & D: Strategies & Practice Drill
In this lesson, we'll look at switching back and forth between the chords C and D.
We'll look at which of the 7 Key Chord Change Strategies will help you switch from C to D,
and then go in reverse from D to C, as smoothly and quickly as possible.
Then we'll practice those switches back-and-forth together, within the context of a simple rhythm.
This helps develop your muscle memory for how best to make the chord change,
and to do so right in rhythm with the music.
You may pause the video for additional practice on your own.
Also, be sure and repeat the rhythmic exercise with me several times until you can keep up.
The 7 Key Strategies for Making Faster Chord Changes are:
- * Place the bass note first
* Share a note
* Don't let go!
* Stay in your lane
* Move as a pair
* Streamline your moves
* Follow the leader
Remember, this Segment 4 is long, but you are not expected to work on every single chord pair right now.
Just pick a handful of chord pairs that are appropriate for your skill level, and practice them along with me.
Then, move ahead to Segment 5.
