Description

A syncopated rhythm is any rhythm that puts emphasis on a beat, or subdivision of a beat, that isn't normally emphasized. Simply put - we accent beats other than the downbeats.

A standard reggae rhythm, with accent on the upbeats, is a simple form of syncopation.
