Hey, I bid on and won an ebay auction on an air guitar in January! I won it at $14.50 USD!!!

Here's the link!

Then, some guy actually wrote me an e-mail:

To member: jason
From member: sanfordsstuff
--------------------
hey that air guitar you won on ebay you better ask for a photo of it where i am from an air guitar is not real its invisable as in does not exist. you better tell ebay to look into this sellers auctions.

I wrote back to him:

What're you talking about? I've got the item, as promised, and it's working great!

I even left positive feedback!

Then, he responded:

Hmm... did you pay for it though? The reason I ask is that joke listings are all very well but the seller is charged the sellers commission the second the auction ends. I once saw a joke one where a guy was selling his sole for 1 million bucks, but what he didnt realise was if someone bought it he would have owned ebay thousands!!

I sold my girlfriends socks on ebay for £6

And for those who know i trade guitars, I bought one last monday for £1000 and sold it for £1800 last sunday!! It was a Gibson Les Paul Limited Edition Manhattan Midnight!

Christ almighty! I'd get paranoid if I took one of those gigging. How would you tell if it got stolen? I'd spend all night trying to see if any unsalubrious sketcher had picked it up. You can only tell when they start playing but even then you can't be sure cause many people have them these days...

Yet when my friends put up joke items like 'Stick Used TO Beat Howard Stern Over The Head' and 'Cabbage Some Guy Stuck His Dick In', they get taken down or cancelled almost immediately.

 I really don't know which is sadder - that you submitted (and followed up on) a bid of US$14.50, or that edmasterweb submitted seven increasing bids in an attempt to top your bid!

It's just a pity you couldn't mime paying them.
I guess you could always start some interesting legal case if you could find a lawyer unethical enough to take your money for backing you for such a crazy plee.

Well, it was inevitable; my high bid was $1,000,000....

I'm happy to see that I"m not the only one that finds that the only thing stranger than the auction is the number of bidders. I once bid (and won) "stuff from some guy's pocket". When I got it I got a bag with pocket lint, a used cough drop wrapper, a plastic zebra, an arcade token, some coins, an unknown object, and 2 pendant type things. Strangest part is that I didn't feel ripped off. It cost me somethin like 5 bucks.
