That picture makes me wish I was the guitar!

1. The day I got a guitar.
2. The day I started my first band.

1. When I bought my second guitar.

2. When the band teacher at my high school suggested that I should attend a concert by a classical guitarist who was visiting our town - and I came home from the concert feeling sorry for the performer who had to endure such stifling formality for his art.

Man, what is that product of corporation doing anywhere near a guitar? Christ, that picture annoys me. Sure, she may be hot, but whoops, I just masturbated and now she's a worthless shyty corporate slut who's gotta sell her body like any other professional whore.

1) When I started getting attention for my handywork on the guitar and integrated socially for a significant length of time.

2) When I accidentally plucked out my first blues sounding bend.

Rolling Stone used to be a hip, Rock'n'Roll kinda outfit, but a glossy, world-wide publication is about as corporate as it gets!

 You did mean the magazine, didn't you?

I first realized guitar wasn't a phase when I had my first lesson. I've felt like a guitarist when I was playing outside at the middle school 3 years ago, and kids were putting money in my case.

I first realized that guitarin' wasn't a phase after I had a few licks and riffs under my belt. Just being able to play these simple little things made me thirst for more complex and longer pieces of music to master. I started to feel like a guitarist when I started to receive mucho praise from my friends. Not that I needed them to validate me as a guitarist or anything, but it certainly didn't hurt.
Blues is easy to play, but hard to feel.

HUH , what the hell are you on about
By virtue of their electrical properties, tubes generate a special waveform when they're saturated, which is why tube engineering has tremendous tonal advantages over solid state or DSP solutions, particularly for crunch and lead sounds. Tubes enter the saturation zone gradually or softly, which lends tube-driven tone its trademark yet totally unique character.

Ah, yes - blurred memories of miss-spent youth...

In September 1975, I had just moved to Ottawa. I was staying at a buddy's place while I saved up the first-and-last money for my own apartment.

We decided to throw a party on a Sunday afternoon, and invited everyone we could think of. In honour of the ocaision, we went across the river to Hull, Quebec, and brought home a two-four of Molson Bras D'Or. Back then, all Canadian beer came in "brown stubby" bottles (no twist-off caps). Bras D'Or was a special Quebec-only brew with 8.6% alcohol.

We started in on the pints while we were waiting for our guests to show up. Pretty soon the case was empty. So we went back to Chenier Frere's depanneur in Hull for another two-four of Bras D'Or. Still no guests. So we picked up where we left off.

By the time we finshed that case, it was well into the evening and we were pretty sure nobody was going to show up, so we only got 12 Bras D'Or on the next trip.

By the time we finished off the 12-pack, it was late enough that even Chenier's was closed. No guests. All out of beer, again! We went to bed.

So... we each drank 30 Bras D'Or between 11 AM Sunday and 2 AM Monday. And went to work at 7 AM!

Men in their early 20's act like they're immortal - there may be some truth to that assumption!

That's a great story man. I'm up in northern ontario where we've got to deal with a lot of french people and the city of Hull I've heard of as well as stories of people venturing over to quebec for a night. It is true about self-abuse in your 20s. Enough responsability to be able to do it, but not enough to limit yourself and the stregth and endurence of an ox! Only with booze though, I don't believe in dope.

God I so love that picture......want....to......screw.......Christina.

For me, I wanted to be a guitarist when I learned the lead to Zepplin's "Black Dog." It was my first big accomplishment as a guitarist....from then on my thirst for guitar knowledge has known no end.
