i was going to get a Kramer X-plorer stlye guitar, but that kinda fell through. :(

but any way i found a Ibanez RG470, with hard case, for $350Aud, i think thats about $225US, have any of you played this guitar?
if so what did u think?
and before you send my to guitar-review or Harmony Central, i've already been to most of these places.

i just want ur opinions.

oh, and i trust the shop i'm buying it off, it where i got my bass, and they're pretty honest.

if it's the 2003 RG470, i'd suggest you grab it. this particular model features the Edge Pro Trem just like the Prestige series' & comes with a hard case to boot. it's absolute value for $$$ & more importantly, it plays very well. the neck on this one is the slightly thicker Wizard II neck but it's a superb grabber.

the upper end RG for 2003 (before the Prestige territory) is the 4XX series, the 5XX series being discontinued & upgraded into the Prestige series (as the 15XX).

Yeah I have the 570. Great guitar, great tremelo, great neck. There isn't anything bad about the guitar.
Sometimes I hit notes only dogs can hear.

well i bought the guitar, my sister picked it up, the shop and my sister live 2 1/2 hours drive away. so i'm going down this weekend or next weekend to pick it up. oh man can't wait!

yeah i like it alot, but alot of people are saying that it plays heaps better with an EMG 81, or a Di Marzio Tone Zone in the neck, and a Di Marzio FRED or Evolutions in the bridge position. but i don't want active Pick ups so i think i'll leave them for now.

Good on yer!

As for the pickups, leave everything just the way it is until you are familiar enough with it to know whether anything really needs to be changed.
