To understang these styles you must first know bands or artists in that style

Rock includes bands like AC/DC or Led Zeppelin to name the especially popular,

Country includes stuff like like Johny Cash and George Strait

Blues includes stuff like Stevie Ray Vaughan, and B.B King

Funk will include The Meters, and The Jackson Five.

Hope this helps, good luck!

While most music has common elements (notes, scales, melody lines, chords, rhythms, song forms), the specific ways that each element gets used & the specific instruments, timbres (sounds) of how they are put together can result in a particular style.

So, a typical blues songs might have a bittersweet edge, a swing rhythm & a soulful singer telling a story about love gone wrong.

While country music has a twang, uses lots of acoustic instruments, usually has a singer with a Southern drawl singing a story about a slice of rural life.

While rock music has more power & direct energy with more aggressive instrumental approaches.

None of that is true for every song in each genre. And while it's possible to talk or write about what makes a style unique or different from another style, there is simply no substitute for firsthand experience.

This is an example of blues style music.
