Power chord- fingers used

I was wondering. Lisa teaches us to fret power chords with our first finger barring and using our pinky and ring finger to fret. I find it a lot easier to bar all 6 strings with my index then barring the other 2 strings with my pinky. Is this OK or will I run into problems down the road.

I also use my pinkie. I can use my ring and pinkie if I want, but pinkie on its own is comfier and easier. It's good to have both in your arsenal, I would think. Maybe giving both a fair share of use might help, especially when you come across Barre chords that require all 4 fingers down the line.

I've also seen at least one GT tutor use the pinkie, so if it's good enough for them...
