Hi, I am your webmaster with a little info about advertising on this site, and mp3 downloads from this site.
Every time a person downloads an mp3 from this site, it costs a few tenths of a cent. Every time someone gets a popup, it makes a few tenths of a cent. The two cancel each other out. This site doesn't make any significant profit. The more downloads, the more popups.
I don't know the exact $price of each. The mp3s are all different sizes, so it would be hard to get exact.
People have been complaining about popups. So, effective today, I have reduced the amount of popups being shown and also reduced the amount of mp3s a single user can download in a day. Hopefully, people will be happy with the change. Either that or we will get different complaints.

To improve technique and of course trying to keep all as clean as possible. I know my own limits and speed limits and so on I never play anything I'm not capable of. That wouldn't make any sense. After three years of playing I tried to play everything as fast as possible and that sounded, I would say, like shit, and I didn't realize that if I'd play bit slower things than I was capable of playing then everything would sound much better.

I understand the logic with the pop up cuz you gotta do what you gotta do to keep this great site, and it is a great site! going but, right now im starring at this "want to play poker?" ad from visa and is going, round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round....what was i talking aobut....oh yeah...it so fu*king annoying! You're not going to pleae everybody, so 'do what ya gotta do' and let 'em bitch. I don't see people lined up to hand you money for the priveledge of logging on, so cover your costs as you see fit.

I'll second that, popups are a small ppain to endure for the quantity of information contained in this site.
If they can't understand that it's their lost and shouldn't be your problem. Don't loose sleep over this :)

Jon, why don't you tell people you'll be on the chat at a certain time and they can all share their complaints there. that way the chat will get some activity. whether you actually show up is optional.

the pop-ups are a pain but not a show stopper. Whatever you do some one aint gona like it. Limiting downloads is a pain in the musicale department as opposed to the aesthetic one and to my mind that is a lot more serious.

Do you guys have your browsers set up weird or something? The only popup I've ever seen is the one on the main page. Other than that, they always appear behind other windows so I never see them.
