Tom,

Learning to play this song from your lesson, which is great by the way. Working on the first solo at this time. Is the tab notation correct? It seems that when you play the first solo all the notes you play in the video don't seem to match the notation.

Ex: I believe it is bars 10 and 11 it shows 3rd string sliding 4-7, 1st string 7, 3rd string sliding 7-12, 1st string 10, 3rd string sliding 12-16, 1st string 15-15-15. Is this how you play it in the video? I don't see you sliding 12-16 on the 3rd string, am I missing it?

Also I believe it is bar 14 on the first string it shows 3-3-3-3. Is that how that bar is played? Trying to play it correctly. Thanks for any information.

Hi Kevin, I am glad you are enjoying Realin' in the years… it's a GREAT song isn't it!?

I just checked the notation on the first solo and it looks right to me! Perhaps the rhythm is throwing you off? I would say keep working it slowly and it should line up in time!

Best of luck! :)

Tom,

Yes! This song is amazing and have always wanted to learn to play it. Grew up listening to groups from the 60's, 70's and 80's. Thanks for the feedback, the other sites I have used never would contact me when I submitted a question. I will watch the video and listen to the notes more closely and slow things down as you suggested. I will keep you informed on my progress.

The gear I am using is a Fender Stratocaster, Marshall DLS 100. I am experimenting using an MXR overdrive and distortion with a Wah set about half way. Playing with the settings on the amp. Getting sound close to the song but not exact. Do you have any suggestions on this? Thanks.
