It's awesome to see more people posting recordings of their playing here on the listening post.

When I get home from work later on I'll definitely check these out!

Great playing Caponi! Can't really comment too deeply as you're playing without any other music so there really isn't any context to it, but clearly, you're one of the more accomplished GT forum regulars. So where are you going to take your guitar playing from here? Join a band? Write some songs? Just wondering; you've clearly got the chops, have you thought about what you'd like to do with them? Nice job! :)

Hot damn!!! WOW!!! Nice bends, nice articulation, nice speed, nice palm muting...nice everything!!

You got it man...get in a band and get out there!!!

How long have you been playing? I've been playing 30 years and you are where I always wanted to be...ain't there yet. And you make it look easy!!

It would be cool to hear all of that talent put to work in the context of a song...even a backing track.

P.S. I see from your profile that you have been playing for a measly 2 years. I officially hate you :-)!!!

Keep it up!!! Awesome work!

Caponi14,

Seems like I remember you posting up a while back, it was one of the fastest while being accurate post I had seen posted here. If so you have lost no speed and greatly increased your bag of tricks, while still being quite accurate. I would like to hear an example of you using them to a backing track again.

After listening to the first track for a couple minutes (my taste in music) I started to feel like I was being yelled at, so much so fast just kept coming, without softer slower spots to let me unwind. Of course not having backing track didn't help. I know there is music out there that that is the goal. If that is what your after go chase it, your skills are ready.

When you practicing some of those tricks do you ever pick softer going in one direction than the other repeatedly? I think you could add some really cool textures.

Thanks for posting.

Thank you everyone. I want to make one using a backing track aswell. Im just afraid that the camera can't really catch the sound properly. I don't got a mic, But i will try :)

Maggior i have been playing for 6-7 years now :)

about the softer picking, yes i actually try to do that. especially when im playing on top of music.

Slip :) i would really like to join a band again. i played about 130 concerts in a year last time i had one, and i miss it to death :(
Also im ''on and off'' writing music, but it's not as rewarding as if i had someone to play it for/with.
Here in Denmark it's a bit hard to find good bands that can really play. And the really good onces that i think match my current skill level, usually fails in the social aspect, being selfabsorbed jerks to say the least.

You can hear my playing on top of some music in this link, but bear in mind that i only played the solo in this track. It aint really my type of music, but im glad that i could adapt as a short lived session musician for this band :)

https://soundcloud.com/search?q=chilling%20dawn%20the%20world%20is%20quiet

listen from 2:35. My solo starts from 3:15 and stops at around 3:57

It's a little sad i don't got anything where i actually like and enjoy the music :D
but i will try to play something to a backing track at some point :) Also, i will check out if i can get my schools version of higher ground by stevie wonder uploaded to youtube :) we recorded that in sun studio in Memphis, Tennessee when i was visiting the states. Im a bit proud of that actually :)

I managed to upload the Stevie Wonder track on youtube :)

on this track im playing the lead guitar throughout the whole track. And there is a little improvised solos of mine at 4:10, but i suggest you listen to the whole track. my fellow students were very good!

OK, I hate you less then...but I still hate you :-).

With that many concerts under your belt, I see how you've developed so quickly. I know from experience that playing with others really expands your capabilities.

As far as a backing track goes, I wouldn't worry about video. You could do like Slipin_Lizard and I have done, which is to record over a backing track on a PC or some multitrack device. That way the levels and stuff are adjustable and it will all sound good. I've done stuff with the looper on my Zoom G5 with a basic drum beat and basic chord progression. Lay down a simple progression and you can jam and wail until the cows come home. It's a fabulous way to work out solo idea or perfect a particular technique.

Good luck finding like minded people to play with. You must really be jonsing!! Keep pursuing it - I have to believe somebody with your talent should be able to find an outlet for it.

Thank you alot guys :)

The trip to Memphis was simply a musical journey me and some of my fellow students went upon :) we went to there to suck up all the wonderful music and the great, great musicians that live and breathe there. We visited Memphis, Nashville and New Orleans. All the cities where PACKED with great music :)
The recording in Memphis was a project paid by our school! very rewarding experience.

Great places really.

Thank you, Im playing through a Marshall AFD100 through a Framus cabinet (old german brand i think) There is no effects on the amp, and i dident have the money to buy effect units yet. So the tone is dry. But i kinda like it that way, im not the biggest effect guy. But i could use a bit of reverb and delay.
