Hi Tom,

I have a question about the 1st measure of the intro.
It starts on second beat, but there are only 5 triplet beats and not six ?

I don't no much about music and just want to understand why it is transcribed the way it is.

Thanks for all the lessons you give on here, and thanks in advance for any help you or anybody else can give me on this question.

Hi there. yes, that is confusing isn't it? That appears to be a typo! There should only be 4 triplets per measure, not five! The fourth 'little' triplet shouldn't be there. Same with the third measure; the third 'little' triplet shouldn't be there. I will alert the transcription department and have it fixed! Thanks for alerting us and you are most welcome for the lessons!

Cheers, Tom

Hey guys,

Thanks for you feedback. I've contacted our transcriptionist about this and here's the result:

The triplets aren't set to show quarter note values only. We look at the groups of notes and decide how best to divide the triplet beats. In this case we decided to group quarter, quarter, eighth, eighth, quarter (for measure 1).

Hope this helps clarify a bit.
