why is there no option to choose the first and third pickups? theres only options to choose the first, second, or on a fender, first second third, first and second, second and third, but no first and third. WHHYYY

You should be able to wire up as you wish. Just have to find the correct wiring information for your switch

From what I know, originally the Strat switches were 3 position switches like a Tele. Some guitar players would jam the switch "between positions" by wedging in a guitar pick (or other means) creating the unique sound so many know and love! The reverse wiring came later.
Fender eventually started using a 5 way switch to fully enable the "in between" positions and that is why it is what it is today.
You can (among other things) add a toggle switch and jump the bridge pup directly to the switch output. That way you get all the original positions, plus B+N, and even B+M+N.
...so ever since then, I always hang on to the buckle.
