I was messing around with the Amboy Dukes tune, Journey to the center of your mind.
Next thing I know, I'm recording it.

This is a rough first mix.
It may be too loud and there may be too much bass.
This is as far as I got today.
I'm tired, time to go lay down.
I'll get back on it asap.

Let me know what needs fixing, thanks.

wonderful. it fits really nicely as a jam type song. a japanese rock band, maybe? haha. very good nonetheless.

Sounds good overall. I think it was recorded a little bit on the high end..but besides that sounds pretty cool.

Good work.

ted would be impressed....though he may not admit it with his ego
it may be a bit trebley on the main solo/riff but the distortion is pretty damn close....did you use your neck pickup??? that may give more of the tone ted had. great job though :D

The last thing I want is Ted tone. :D

Not sure why, but his tone on the original record is pretty bland.

I just like the song, I can pass on the nuge for the most part.
I just hope he keeps sending me those crates of Michigan deer meat :p

i think whoever produced/recorded the original was not top o' the line----look at technology today...at home on your computer you have better production than a studio back then :D

yeah, pretty amazing to think how far it has all come.

I remember wanting a 4 track cassette so bad but not having the money for it.

I thought a 4 track was the be all end all in home recording.

Thanks Doug,

Same here, not a Ted Nugent fan but this has always been one of those classic songs that roll around my brain.
