Hey dude,

the bass is tuned the same as a guitar, so the harmonics are in the same places. Where have you tried searching?

www.activebass.com is likely to have some answers.

Not sure about your question cause scales and harmonics are two different things. If you're just talking about harmonics, they're located in the same place as a guitar.... on the 5th, 7th and 12th frets.

it is possible to play scales using harmonics, usually you don't just use the natural harmonics. It's quite a skill though.

It is possible to play harmonics on any string or fret just pinch the bass string like on the guitar but its hard to do.

what im more trying to get from this is where certain notes are in certain spots and stuff. maybe harmonics scales. i have found one or two scales so far, and there isnt nearly as many as there are fretted tones, but im still interested so i can use the right note in the right spot.

The easiest to play harmonics are at the 5th, 7th and 12th frets of each string.

The harmonics on the 5th and 12th frets are the same note as the open string (ie. the harmonic on the 5th fret of the D string is a D note).
The harmonics on the 7th frets are the note that the fretted note would be (ie, the harmonic on the 7th fret of the E string is a B note)

i have heard that harmonics could be played on fret position 1.8, 2, 2.2, 2.7, 3.2, etc, but there must be some sort of chart saying what notes these are, like a complete fretboard layout. does this exist?
