Description

In this tutorial we'll learn to play a beautiful classical solo piece by guitarist-composer Francisco Tárrega (1852-1909) entitled "Endecha".

This piece requires that we tune the bottom E string down a whole step to D. The piece is in the key of D minor and therefore having that D on the bottom is indispensable. You can tune it by playing the 12th fret harmonic on the bottom string against the open D string (3rd string from bottom). These should produce the same pitch.

Like many of Tárrega's minor key pieces it sounds bittersweet and full of melancholy. This is typical of Romantic era minor key music.
