Description

Mike will show you the 2 acoustic guitar layers. Guitar 1 is the main guitar part that drives the tune with fingerpicked arpeggiations and barre chord strums. Guitar 2 plays some exotic sounding licks in the verse sections.

The tune starts with a solo acoustic arpeggiated figure that drives the song forward.

Next, the verse enters with all the other instruments and vocals, pushing the dynamic up. The last part of the verse climaxes with some dramatic accents that lead back into the solo acoustic reintro. The song features four of these combined sections.

Any acoustic guitar is suitable to play this song, but one with a brighter tone will help cut through the mix a bit better.

In the following lessons, we’ll talk about fingerpicking, chord arpeggiation, barre chords, dynamics, and a steady strumming approach. We are in the key of D major, with a 4/4 time signature, at a tempo of 172 BPM.
