Description

This song features a mix of light crunch and heavy crunch tones. I’m using a Les Paul set for the bridge pickup for a clear and powerful tone. That said, this song can be played with any electric guitar.

A Modern High-Gain tube amp is the best choice to replicate the tones in this tune. Dial in a light crunch setting on one channel, then set your dirty channel for heavy crunch. Alternatively, you could set your light crunch sound on the amp, then kick in a high-gain distortion pedal for the crunch parts. Start out by setting the Preamp Gain to 45%, Bass to 50%, Mids to 55%, and the Treble and Presence to around 60%. For the high-gain sound, increase the preamp gain to around 75%.

Guitar 2 uses a uni-vibe effect for a dramatic, modulated sound for the leads.

Add a touch of reverb to both guitars for depth. Since we’re tuned down to dropped C, I’m using an 11-52 string guage. I’m also using a heavy pick to dig into the strums and chunky riffing.
