Description

Malcolm and Angus Young are among the most iconic guitarists of all time, and have used pretty much the same gear throughout their entire careers. They each played a Grestch Jet and a Gibson SG through cranked up Marshall stacks. Each guitar was set to the bridge humbucker for a clear and powerful tone.

I’m using a Les Paul set for the bridge pickup, but any guitar with a humbucker pickup in the bridge position is suitable.

As far as amps go, any Marshall style tube amp is a desirable choice. Set the amp for a thick crunch sound. Set the Drive to 60%, Bass to 50%, Mid to 55%, Treble to 50%, and Presence to 55%.

Use a treble booster or overdrive for Guitar 2 to add more gain and sustain for the leads. Add a touch of reverb to both guitars for depth.

I’m using 10-46 gage and with a heavy pick with both guitars.

Here are the settings I used:

Marshall Plexi Model:
Drive: 60% Bass: 50% Mid: 55% Treb: 50% Presence: 55%
Treble Booster (Guitar 2):
Level: 55% Tone: 70%
Reverb: WetDryMIX: 25%
