Today we are going to learn how to play "Deep River Blues" as recorded by Doc Watson in 1964. This is an acoustic blues classic played by an iconic bluegrass player giving it elements of both styles; a swingy blues rhythm and licks along with a fast double-time feel and some very fancy Travis-style finger picking.

In this tutorial we'll learn the intro, the first verse, the second verse, the solo and the outro. The song is in the key of E and is in 4/4 with a quarter note of approximately 90 BPM, but in cut-time. So, it’s effectively 180 BPM, let's get started!
