Now let me show you what the rhythm guitar is playing in the verses and choruses of this song. Just like the intro-riff, the rest of the rhythm part also stays on the bottom 2 strings. This means, once again, that this part can be played in either regular drop D-tuning or the full open D-tuning. If you plan on using the same guitar for the rhythm and the lead part I recommend getting into the open D-tuning for this part. If you have two separate guitars to use, you can leave the rhythm guitar in regular drop D.
