El Paso (Made Easy)

Hi everybody, this is Caren for Guitar Tricks, and in this set of lessons I'll be teaching you a made easy version of "El Paso", by Marty Robbins.

"El Paso" is a western classic, with a dramatic story line and signature melody that drives the song from beginning to end. Performed and written in 1959, "El Paso" is played in a very fast 3/4 time; the original recording is a ripping 211 beats per minute.

We will learn the five chords in the song individually, then look at how they fit together. A simple but useful 3/4 strum will work for the entire song.
