Description

A "run" is a group of notes that is played together. It can be called a "lick", too, but I often used runs to fill space between licks. You will see that the runs I teach in this lesson are simply playing notes up the minor scale with different rhythmic groupings.

The first grouping is four notes per beat, or 16th notes. The second grouping is six notes per beat, or sextuplets (or as they say in my country, "sextoles"). Learning to play this scale using different rhythmic groupings helps you to master the scale, build your technique, and develop a larger vocabulary for soloing.
