The band kicks in and a rhythm guitar hits an open power chord while an effected guitar plays a trill. You'll hear this section repeat throughout the tune, and it really adds some tension to the song, setting up the verses. Use your index finger in open position to hammer on and pull off the 2nd fret for the trill. You can pick it every bar to refresh the sustain on the trill, but make sure your picking is in time with the rhythm section.
