Description

During the verse of Hot Child, the guitar doesn't come in right away and when it does it starts with some simple harmonics. This is a good exercise in laying back and being selective about what you add to a song. The tendency for some guitar players is to fill in all the blank spaces in a song. But if you put the right guitar part in the right place it will be noticed and appreciated even more.

A melodic single note line is played in the second half of the verse. This gives the listener the impression that change is happening in the song. This change builds the emotion of the song and tells you that the chorus is coming.

The key to the tone on this tune is not too much distortion and using a delay
that is in time with the beat. If you have a delay unit with tap tempo, you can
just tap along to the song to get the setting. If your delay unit requires you
to dial in the delay time, the delay on this song is 536ms.

You can find this out for any song using a "delay time calculator" via Google.
Just enter in the BPM, in this case 112, and that you want a 1/4 note delay and this will give you the delay setting for your unit.
