Joining GuitarTricks is a great way to get out of a rut, where you can "do what you can do", but don't really know how or where to go from there.

When you think ahead to what you would LIKE to be able to play in the future, think also about what foundatonal skills you might need to "go back and brush up on", or even learn for the first time. 

It may feed like backtracking at first, but if you are self-taught and stuck, it could be very helpful to get your basics tuned up, so that you can build upon them and really move forward towards your goals and wishes.

Un-learn any old habits that are getting in your way, learn more about the technique and theory behind what you can already do, so you can use all that as building block from which to climb higher. 
And....have fun!!
