I have a 50-year old Framus (Texas model, I think) I bought new in Germany for $30. It traveled with me all over the world and in my last location, before a multi-decade playing pause, it acquired the name "Darkness." Each time I picked it up I would whisper, 'Hello Darkness...' Those guitar players who know Simon and Garfunkel should understand why (still have the LP, too).
