Talking 'bout the big brands here; Martin, Gibson, Fender, Taylor, etc....

I no longer hold hope for guitars to appreciate in value unless they are already collectors items. If they are 30 or 40 years old that's one thing but looking for appreciation in newer built/bought guitars is looking for a long wait. As I posted in another sub-forum; too many guitars, too many discounts, too much depreciation of new guitars when they are carried out the door.

I like fine, expensive guitars and I like fine, inexpensive guitars. I just think their value is not going to go up unless I get a very good deal in the first place. And that's probably not gonna happen at music stores or pawn shops... ;)
