Their's definately some good rap out there... mostly old school stuff like Public Enemy, KRS 1, The Beastie Boys, even Run DMC. But even in contemporary rap you can find some rays of light such as Jurassic 5- they actually play instruments.

I don't think their's anything wrong with the genre, it's just where people are taking it...
