Fingerpicking Pattern
In this lesson we start with the fingerpicking pattern required to play the exercise.
1. The thumb (letter "p" for pulgar in the score) plays the D string.
2. The middle finger (letter "m" for medio in the score) plays the E string.
3. These fingers play at the same time.
4. The index finger (letter "i" for indice in the score) plays the B string.
5. The index finger plays after the thumb and middle fingers play their notes together.
We are also going to alter the pattern by using the middle and ring fingers instead on the B and E strings.
1. The thumb (letter "p" in the score) plays the D string.
2. The ring finger (letter "a" for anular in the score) plays the E string.
3. These fingers play at the same time.
4. The middle finger (letter "m" medio in the score) plays the B string.
5. The middle finger plays after the thumb and ring fingers play their notes together.
Try the exercise with both of these fingerpicking patterns.
