This time let's look closer at the pentatonic minor scale and the patterns it makes on the guitar fretboard. Once again, because there are only 5 notes in the pentatonic scale, there are only five basic "box shapes" to learn.
Again, we give each note of the scale a chance to start the scale pattern & then create two "walls" of notes (or a "box") to bounce back and forth between. The great thing about these pentatonic boxes is: they are exactly the same shapes as the major pentatonic boxes!
So, once you've got the 5 pattern shapes you know them all for major and minor. The crucial difference is that the scale degrees are in different places. But you can get use to this pretty quickly with enough patience & determination.
