I’m using a Les Paul to play this song, but any electric guitar is suitable. Be sure to choose the bridge pickup for a clearer and more powerful tone.

As far as amps go, any Fender style tube amp is a desirable choice. Set up the amp for a light crunch sound. Set the Drive to 70%, Bass to 45%, Mid to 55%, Treble to 60%, and Presence to 65%.

For Guitar 2, either crank the amp’s preamp gain all the way up, or kick in an overdrive/distortion pedal for a more overdrive sound. Guitar 2 also uses a chorus effect for a bit of sparkle to pop out of the mix.

Add some reverb to both guitars for depth.

I used a 10-46 string gage, with a heavy pick so I can dig into these chord stabs and riffs.

Here are the settings I used:

Fender Deluxe Model:
Drive: 70% Bass: 45% Mid: 55% Treb: 60% Presence: 65%
Chorus (Guitar 2):
Rate: 40% Depth: 40% Wet/DryMIX: 35%
Spring Reverb:
WetDryMIX: 35%
