Guitar 1 sets the mood with an arpeggiated acoustic riff. You will pedal on the open A string, and add some chord shapes on the D, G, and B strings with it. This riff starts off the tune by itself, but is featured throughout the song. Even though the sections it appears in are relatively lower in dynamic, you don’t have to play it so gently. Dig into the picking and do your best to keep it steady and consistent.

There are plenty of variations of this part that occur throughout the tune, keeping things interesting. Leading into the second verse, Guitar 1 strums the open chords of this progression while Guitar 2 enters the mix. There is also a similar approach leading into the guitar solo. Both the second verse and guitar solo rhythm sections are doubled by Guitar 2.
