Thought I would introduce myself. I'm Greg, from Raleigh. I took guitar lessons back in the mid to late 80's from a guy that was the lead guitarist with Glass Moon, a local band that got a little airplay on a song or two. I gave up after about a year thinking that music just wasn't my thing. I have regretted that ever since....Recently I decided to try again, so I signed up here.

I feel like this online tool where I can stop the instructor and practice a bit before moving on may be a better fit for me, and I feel like I'm already making progress. I do believe that what I learned some 30 years ago is actually giving me a little advantage over someone that may be starting cold, but only time will tell if I can transition from a clinker to someone that can make actual music.

Hi Greg and welcome to you.

Guitar Tricks is a great site and if you are willing to put the time and effort into it I'm sure you will make great progress.

I wish you well for the future.

Joe

Thanks Joe! One thing I've done this time is bought a cheap guitar (which actually plays much better than I would have guessed) and just leave it sitting in my office so I can pratice at lunch. It really helps break up the day, and I'm finding that spending that one hour on guitartricks.com is helping build basic skills that I tried to bypass years ago.
