This is really a fun song too play along with, uses 2 chords Em,Am I use my 2nd and 3rd finger on the Em makes it easier too switch too the Am, just the way I learned how too do it, but maybe I should switch to 1st and 2nd finger, may make the switch from G too Em and too C or Am easier using the 2nd finger as a pivot point in the future, on the G, I drop my 3rd finger first and bring the 1st and 2nd finger over the top.

I'm glad you're having fun with the song! The song is taught using super simple chords which is supposed to be a bit more accessible for new players. You can definitely switch up the pivot finger if you feel it's more comfortable to do so.
