I only recently subscribed to Guitar Tricks and apart from site navigation have found the large number and variety of song lessons fantastic.  However after just over a weeks absence I returned to find that a huge number of songs are being deleted because of the cost of licensing.  I understand the issues but it's just a bit disappointing that the two songs I'm learning are about to go before I've even got to the chorus let alone the encore.

We are sorry about the inconvience BrokenSolo. This was not the outcome we had hoped for either. We will continue to upload a new song each week, hopefully it is music you can enjoy!

We know it's a bummer to see these songs go, but we have a lot planned for the site in the future. We hope you stick around to see it!

There was another thread with numerous subscribers upset about the removal of over 300 songs.  It was deleted, apparently the GT forum moderators don't want this discussed...

Is there a list of songs Guitar Tricks is losing and adding in  the future?  I just noticed we are losing all the KISS songs. I think it is only fair to provide a list of what we are losing. It is called being transparent.

I found the list. That's pretty bad.  The one thing that makes Guitar Tricks better than sites like Fender Play is the detailed song video library.

Absolutely agree. Fleetwood Mac songs seem to have gone?

The list is in this thread in the Full Access section, where we announced the news and gave as much notice as we could for everyone. It has not been deleted, but it's in the section of the forum which is only visible for members: https://www.guitartricks.com/forum/t/60804

Here's the actual list of songs: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1sav9PUFZWxAdGulX1vW5I1iCfFANStzzcJSTDrggWN4/edit#gid=0

Holy Crap, every song on my fav list is gone. I could put up with the antiquated Rolling Stones songs and Take Me Out to the Ball Game crap, because I could always jam to my favs, but now that's gone too?  There's nothing left but obscure jazz tunes and other $h1t no one has ever heard of. I don't need lessons and I don't need theory, (I've been playing for 40 years), I just wanted to learn songs and jam and this was the best site for that purpose, but not anymore. Sorry, I'm out. Let me know when you get your song list back.

It took you two and a half months to realize your "favs" were going/gone..?  šŸ¤£

Good luck, have fun.

I'm with you for exactly the same reasons, cancelled my auto renewal after 15 years.

Hi Guys, I absolutely love the songs from Guitar Tricks! Their diverse selection caters to all music tastes and skill levels. The detailed lessons and tablature make it easy to learn and master my favorite tunes. Thanks to Guitar Tricks, I'm constantly expanding my repertoire and improving my guitar skills! Highly recommended.

Yep. I cancelled after 10ish, but had been around a long time before too. Truly a shame. The way this was handled makes me less likely to ever come back or take part in any other Guitar Tricks related site like 30 Day Singer. Severe lack of communication from Guitar Tricks has really ruined what was once a great instructional site.

How so? Be a big ask to replace what has been let go. Please elaborate rather than keep saying " doing our best" and such meaningless waffle.

Yeah and what’s with the obscure Rolling Stone songs? Is that what people are requesting?

I think what most people are requesting is getting the 330 songs back, but that'll never happen.  GT is no longer worth the price.

I've just returned after some months of not using the site to find my 'favorite' songs have disappeared and the library is really lacking. This is very disappointing, and has killed my motivation. I hope you do indeed have good plans for the future, if not it's unlikely that I will renew my subscription :(

Also, I was really disappointed that Caren Armstrong's version of Runaway Train has been replaced by a different version from Mike Olekshy. What was the point in that? Obviously you still have the license for that song, so why delete her version? It was much better than the beginner one from the guy which has no strumming pattern to it. Can't you have both there?!!
