Yup that is the one. It has all kinds of stuff music and non music related. I have never used it but it looks like a pretty interesting way of getting talent for a project. The artist I am looking at to sing a song I am writing goes by the name Mr. Maph. He has a gorgeous voice, but at $200 + I would prefer to see if anyone has experience with the site.

This is the site to Mr. Maph

https://www.fiverr.com/marbellastudios/sing-real-soul-or-gospel-vocals-on-your-track-and-write-for-you?context_referrer=search_gigs&source=top-bar&ref_ctx_id=dbec5b5f-f200-4b7c-ab60-f445dd41334b&pckg_id=1&pos=3&context_type=auto&funnel=f798261b-a416-4baf-99bb-a3076b81bc51&fiverr_choice=true

I am also looking at a Harmonica player because I don't actually know any and I would like to add harmonica to it.

listen to this guy before deciding, looks like not the place to be.

What I did in the past when I wrote a song is went to a lot of jam sessions and there are always singers to, one day I found a singer with just the voice for the song I made and asked him to sing it in and he agreed so the song is still playing on soundclick for almost 20 years already.

Hey William,

You can sometimes find talented people on sites like that. Years ago, I used a similar site that was just for Voiceover actors, and found a guy that did an outstanding job on my project for very cheap! He was A++++ ability.

Here's the problem:

Often, the people on these sites are not professional. I don't mean that as an insult, it's just that they don't have an up-and-running factory for doing this work full-time. They tend to try it for a few months and then go do something else and never respond again.

That is why I always look for these qualities:

1. Has this person been doing this job / service for a LONG time?

2. Do they do it regularly? Is it their main source of income?

3. Is the quality / their ability very high?

4. Are they super-responsive and organized?

The answer, if you're looking on those low-balling sites (or Craigslist) is almost always NO. Otherwise they'd be doing their work somewhere else and making real money.

Still, you can find the occasional gem!

Punchline: that amazing voiceactor guy I found on that site? He disappeared after doing my project and never responded again. :)

-Carl.

Thanks for input Carl. All good points. I am not sure what I am going to do. The guy in the link definately has the pipes I am looking for and although I know a lot of singers, for the song I am writing I don't have anyone who has that deep down soul that this guy has. He is amazing.

I am still looking, I haven't decided to give my credit card yet.

Hi there - I've used it a few times on songs I've written. My own personal view and experience is that it's better to get someone who plays both guitar and does vocals rather than getting two separate musicians as communication is easier and if you make any changes it shoud be cheaper. I have used and worked with Alex Dew who is a sensational musician and singer - ex recoridng artist - and great value - and a nice guy too.

No experience with Fivver. Have used Airgigs before. I think the artists on Airgigs are a little more expensive, but they have some very good people there. One suggestion with whoever you choose.. clearly understand the revision policy. I can assure you that whatever vocalist you use, you will want revisions.

Have used both for vocals.  Prefer Air gigs...  a little higher quality vocals, but a little more pricey. A couple of tips: Make sure reference samples on site are of high quality, because if the acoustics/mic is poor in sample that's probably what you'll end up with. #2 Don't use vocalist from foreign country unless you're ok with having a foreign accent on your project. #3  Recommend using vocalist whose samples more closely match your type of music, e.g. don't get someone who specializes in metal to do a ballad. Finally, make it clear if you're ok with a vocalist taking liberties with your melody. This seems to always be a problem - that they interpret the song to how they may like it and not how you send it to them.
