R.i.p. I've listened to his music for 35 years and ( for me) he was one of the greatest at evoking emotion and peace in the way he played. The reason I had to save for a Les Paul. Hard road with John mayall is an amazing album and the supernatural from that album is a must listen. See ya Peter and thanks for such inspirational tone and music.

thanks for posting this news of his passing. I came to find out about Mr. Green via my inspiration to play guitar, Santana. After listening to Carlos for years, more like decades, I came to find out it was in fact Mr. Green that wrote Santana's "signature" song, Black Magic Woman.
After starting to learn guitar I started to investigate Mr. Green's work and was shocked. And I thought Santana was a soulful player?!?!?

One of the absolute sweetest guitarists. He could take the simplest lick and make is so melodical. His intro to Need your love so bad is a great example.
The most played guitarist on my spotify list. Most people don't realise that in 1969 (Peter Green's) Fleetwood Mac sold more records than the Beatles and the Rolling Stones combined.

The thing about Peter Green is that he was endlessly humble about his bilities. He did not really think that he was a good songwriter or guitarist. Before Mayall, he largely played bass but switchted to guitar. He totally underrated himself. He'd even said that much of what he played was trying to find the right notes and oftren he thought is playing was embarrasing.
If only we could all play that embarrassingly!
It's good to know that even one of the greats felt like he didn't measure up. Not this should be dejecting but that we all understand that the road of a guitar player is continual learning.
