Knock on wood
Tom, can this song be played by just using the thumb over the 6th string on the A chord. Like Hendrix did all the time. its something I have been working on and instead of trying to mute that 5th string, this works for me. , Do you currently play with a band now? and what's the name of the band?? I hope I am not getting too personal, if so just disregard the last couple of questions. Good tune, good lesson, keep the good tunes coming, Tommy

Hey there. Yes, I would say try it and if it works for you and sounds good then go for it! There are many ways to play and I always encourage people to find the best way for themselves. These lessons are simply starting points...
In answer to your other question; yes, I play in a number of groups in the bay area, my own being Tom Finch group. You can hear some music and find out more about me at www.tomfinch.com
Cheers, Tom :)

I got back to this lesson for a refresher, I am trying to learn or work out the horn parts playing on that fill, I don't see it in the tab. It sounds very simple but for some reason I am having problems with it, Time to use the A, B stop and go on the bottom of the page. I have some lead notes missing, What do you guys do if you are playing this tune out without a horn section?? I will keep at it, I have been humming it in my head. This tune really takes me back when we were doing the High School Dances in the band. We had a keyboard do that horn fill. I should of paid attention to him more carefully. You do a fine job with the tune............Pete
