Check out Alliance Ethnik or something. I'm sure there is a lot more good stuff like this out there, but this one just comes to mind cause I personally like em.(me liking them does not make them good, that's not what I meant, but they are definately interesting musically)
It's just like any other style of music, the trash is usually served on a plate right in front of you(MTV, radio,...), but the good stuff is harder to find, and mostly gets less recognition by the big public.(wich is their loss really)
